Hi, I’m Desire’, and I’m proud to be part of the heart and soul of Teakwood Coves. My journey in healthcare began at the dinner table, where I would sit with my mother as she studied to become a nurse. Watching her dedication sparked a deep desire in me to follow in her footsteps, and I’m grateful every day for the inspiration she gave me.
As a single mother, I began my career as a Home Health Aide, working with individuals with developmental disabilities and chronic conditions in a home-like setting. From there, I advanced to become a CNA, gaining invaluable experience in long-term care settings. Afterward, I earned my LVN, a milestone I’ve been proud of for over 7 years. With 10 years of experience in healthcare, I’ve learned firsthand how important compassionate, personalized care is and how it can truly change lives.
2015 was a transformative year for me. It was the year I became a mother and decided to fully commit to my healthcare journey. I’m currently pursuing my Associate’s Degree, furthering my education to enhance my ability to serve. Over the past 4 years, I’ve taken on leadership roles in healthcare, which have strengthened my passion for creating better environments and systems of care.
Now, alongside my mother, I’m dedicating myself to making a lasting difference in the lives of seniors. Teakwood Coves is more than just a place for our members to live; it’s a place where they can truly thrive. I’m excited to continue this journey, bringing my experience, heart, and dedication to the people who need it most.
